Living with IIH (Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension), Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), and endometriosis has made one thing incredibly clear to me: pain management is a full-time job. Most office chairs are designed for the “average person,” and by that, I mean someone who isn’t dealing with chronic pain, spinal issues, or unstable joints. For someone with IIH, sitting still for too long can actually worsen the pressure in my head and face.


EDS makes my joints hypermobile, which means I’m constantly adjusting, but even then, my body still isn’t properly supported. And don’t get me started on endometriosis—sitting for long periods just puts way too much pressure on my pelvic area.


I’ve tried every office chair you can think of, from ergonomic to fancy lumbar support models, but none of them offered the flexibility I needed. I was always shifting, trying to find a position that didn’t worsen my symptoms, and it just wasn’t working.

With EDS, my joints are constantly unstable, and staying in one position for too long can make the pain worse. The Pipersong Chair gives me the freedom to move without worrying about my joints. Whether I’m kneeling, squatting, or shifting positions, I can do so without fear of injuring myself. It’s given me a level of control over my body that I didn’t know I needed.


When endometriosis flares up, the last thing I want is to be stuck in a position that increases the pressure in my lower body. The chair allows me to kneel or adjust my posture to take the pressure off, which brings instant relief.


It’s the small changes that make a huge difference. No more constant shifting or struggling to find comfort. I can move freely, and the chair supports me naturally. It's not a cure for my pain, but it’s definitely made a significant difference in how I manage my pain throughout the day.
